Being enviromentally friendly By means of LEED

Business people will always be capable of make large impacts on society. While individual initiatives generally lead to relatively smaller improvements and government projects get delayed by policies hung up within the legislative process, private businesses march towards the beat of their own drum. They're usually capable of undertake big projects straight away. They generally look for projects which will earn them an income, but, it simply so happens that many projects which are great for environmental surroundings may also be profitable, thus which makes them appealing to the private sector.

Unfortunately, the profitability of being a "green" company have led many businesses to claim they're experts in green design without actually being one in order to entice customers (referred to as "green washing"). Thankfully, there is a scoring system which was devised in 1998, called LEED Certification to assist gauge precisely how far a business went to add green initiatives within their designs. LEED certified buildings use efficient resources to boost performance with energy conservation, CO2 emissions reduction, and water efficiency all while enhancing the ecosystems they may be an integral part of - as opposed to diminishing them.
